Mi è capitato spesso di pensare guardandomi attorno di essere circondata da alieni ed è stato buffo quando per caso sono stata attratta da questo libro. Ho iniziato a sfogliarlo dalla fine, mi sono imbattuta su alcune perle di saggezza (la saggezza e’ sempre di una semplicità disarmante) tra cui un elenco di consigli per gli esseri umani. E’ la storia di un alieno che viene sulla terra per eliminare le scoperte fatte da un professore di matematica ( soluzione dell’ipotesi di …Riemann). Dopo varie vicissitudini l’alieno che prima odiava la razza umana, scopre che gli esseri umani non sono così insulsi poiché hanno creato la poesia, la musica, (vengono citati Emily Dickinson, Whitman, i Beach boys) sulla terra l’alieno scopre l’amore e la meraviglia, rinuncia così ai “doni” che lo rendono superiore per restare come comune e vulnerabile abitante della Terra.

Looking around me, I often happen to think that we are surrounded by aliens, and it was funny to stumble on this book and immediately being drawn to it. It’s the story of an alien who comes to Earth to delete some discoveries made from a Math professor (the solution to Riemann’s hypothesis). After a series of vicissitudes the alien, who originally hates the human race, finds out that humankind is not so dull: they created poetry and music (there are references to Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, The Beach Boys), there are such beautiful things on Earth like love and wonder. He himself finds love, thus decides to discard all the precious gifts that makes his race so superior, and remains happy on Earth, living as a normal, exposed human being.
